Centralina Area Agency on Aging, one of the CMSG Coordinating Agencies, established the CMSG Volunteer of the Year Award to honor the memory of our co-worker and friend, Annette McClure.Annette was a dedicated employee at the Centralina Area Agency on Aging for twenty-eight years and was also a long-time volunteer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Games program. For many years, Annette served as the event manager during CMSG’s bowling events.Given Annette’s support of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Senior Games and SilverArts and her life-long service in the field of aging, this Award seems a fitting way to honor our dear friend. Historically, CMSG has not given any type of award to its volunteers, although our success each year is greatly supported by the 200+ volunteers who give of their time. This award now provides CMSG an avenue to recognize its outstanding volunteers. Centralina Area Agency on Aging greatly appreciates the opportunity to partner with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Senior Games to honor our friend and to affirm the importance of the spirit of volunteerism.
